Ford has said that they will be recalling more thoustands of F-Series pick up trucks made from 2011 and 2012 due to transmission problem which according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration doesn’t comply with requirements of the federal motor automobile safety standard number 114 – theft protection. The NHTSA says that one can shift out the transmissions of the defective trucks out of part position with out pressing brake pedal due to problems with brake shift inter lock switch. Fred Diaz, the CEO at Ram Truck recently got new responsibilities that included Mexico and he is looking to expand the brand’s reach in the entire Central and North America. Diaz said that it has been 2 years since they created Ram Truck and they have been building some momentum and getting some share gains in Canada and US. They now wish to get such success in more south of border. There is Ram HD (along with some 1500s) getting built in Mexico, Saltillo, along with other Hemi, Fiat, and engineering parts in this country. With this, Mexico looks like a good market for Fiat/Chrysler for focusing on.
