GM will lay off about 900 employees, blames the slow sales. General Motors Corp. recently said that they will indefinitely shutting down 1 of the 2 production shifts @ the Wentzville plant come August, citing shrinking market for full-size vans that are produced there. Around nine hundred 900 workers are now facing lay offs, the spokesman for GM – Chris Lee has said. It isn’t known if they will come back or not. Lee say that it is subject to the demand from markets. There isn’t any schedule to bring them back for work. ATRI or American Transportation Research Institute recently compiled one list of most dangerous places for the truck roll overs in US. Researcher investigated above 50,000 records of crash over 9 yr period for this report, which was released today as 1st phase of 3-part initiative of research. This database covers about 31 states, giving important info to the industry of trucking & officials of transportation.
